When it comes to NBA stars promising their fans something, not everybody keeps up with it. Players come and promise championships but leave without making it up to their fans. Irving started his NBA career at Cleveland Cavaliers and his stint there did not go too well. Irving stayed there for 6 seasons and won the only championship he has in his resume. The 30-year-old has already played for Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets, but wherever he went he always has got himself into controversies. While he has always made fragile promises, the one time he got over the line was during his stint at Cavaliers. That one-time Irving went on to lie to innocent little fans. This controversy happened when a young fan asked Irving if he was going to leave Cavaliers like LeBron James did. Irving responded by saying, “It is a great question. No, I won’t leave. I won’t leave. How can I leave you guys?”?But Irving soon packed his bags and left for Boston Celtics.

Even after moving to Celtics in 2017, he made it to the controversies list there too. Irving there went before the Celtics fans and promised his future to the franchise. While he promised to re-sign with the Celtics, he backtracked on his promise and went to Brooklyn Nets. At Nets he tried to take full advantage of his talent while playing alongside Kevin Durant.

Final Irving controversy at Nets while leaving

After demanding a trade from Nets, Irving has finally said his goodbye. Even while leaving Irving shifted all the blame away from him and appreciated his own performances at the Nets. While patting himself on the back he said, “I did what I was supposed to do, took take of my teammates, was incredibly selfless in my approach to leading.” However, all the fans were surprised at his words after all the fallouts with the Nets.

While securing his trade to Dallas Mavericks, the fans were very relieved to hear to the news of Irving’s trade. Fans could not help but feel very happy about getting rid of one of the most controversial players. While the Nets fans are happy, what kind of phase would the Mavericks be facing in the future remains to be seen.
