Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets have qualified for the playoffs. They beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the play-in tournament to be the 7th seed and advance to the playoffs. They will clash against the Boston Celtics and it would be obviously extra special for Kyrie Irving.
Kyrie joined the Boston Celtics in 2016. After playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers for 6 seasons he played 2 seasons for the Celtics before joining the Brooklyn Nets in 2019. He outperformed his career average in almost every stat in the two seasons he played for the Celtics. He averaged 24.1 points, 6.1 assists, and 4.4 rebounds with 48.9 FG% during his time with them.

But he did not leave them in a manner of mutual respect. Moreover, when the Nets beat the Celtics in the playoffs last season, Kyrie stomped his foot on the crest of the Celtics as the Nets won the series 4-1.

This season the Celtics fans returned the favor to Kyrie in the regular-season game. They chanted ?Kyrie s**ks? towards the end of the game while they were close to the victory. The former Cleveland player had even compared the Celtics fans to a ‘scorned girlfriend.’ Now Kyrie has hit them again with a subtle dig.
Kyrie Irving wants to put behind the Boston Celtics beef
Ahead of the playoffs clash between the Brooklyn Nets and the Boston Celtics, Irving has dropped massive words to suggest that he is over his Celtics days. However, how much would the Celtics fans forget or forgive is still in question.
Kyrie Irving is returning (again) to Boston for the playoffs, where he's been Enemy No. 1 among fans. He's over it:
"I hope we could move past my Boston era and reflect on some of the highlights I left at TD Garden that they can replay. Move forward. Just a new paradigm, baby."

Kyrie’s words were clear evidence that he wanted to get past his Boston Celtics era and just move on. However, it was also a subtle dig at the fans as he reminded them of his performances and rather asked them to “move forward”.
Kyrie said, ?Just a new paradigm, baby.? The 5 word ?attack? might have been subtle or in a sense of going past the differences between him and his former team. However, the fans were not pleased one bit.
He can’t talk shit about Boston, stomp on Lucky, and then pretend that nothing happened and we want to celebrate him.

He tried the racism victim card last year. Then tried the toxic ex approach. Now he’s going for the let’s pretend none of this happen one
— Alex (@Alexzachary305) April 15, 2022
It’s gonna be extremely hostile. He better get ready for it

What highlights? Some cool dribbling in regular season games?
— Matt (@MattConnolly2) April 15, 2022
Highlights? Did nothing for the team. Team made the conference finals three out of four years and the one year they didn’t guess who was playing.

Leaving was THE highlight. Dude is all@about drama and performative bs. From the logo to the incense to the ex girlfriend stuff it’s clear we got an Airbnb in that empty dome of his.

Favorite player to watch play bc he regularly has moves that break my brain but he did not have a "Boston moment" and we put so much stock into you staying soooo nah, we gonna boo you relentlessly and I hope it affects your chakra alignment for those 2 1/2 hours.

Many fans came in defense of the Nets man but most of them showed obvious bitterness towards Kyrie Irving. The Nets vs Celtics playoff series now has an extra spice like we all knew it would.
