The Brooklyn Nets can’t seem to do anything wrong as they racked up their fourth win in a row. While in the last game it was Kevin Durant who showed out, this time Kyrie Irving took down the Orlando Magic. Irving has been left sidelined despite the New York City mandate being lifted. However, he hasn’t let that setback get to him. While he watched KD torch the Knicks a few days ago, KAI returned the favor and gave everyone a spectacle to behold.
Despite not being a full-time player this season, Irving has left his mark. Ever since the James Harden trade, the Nets have been in trouble. With Simmons yet to suit up, it made both Kyrie and Durant’s presence really important. Not only have they been great as leaders, but their individual efforts have been far more than just impressive. And tonight Kyrie showed everyone just what he is capable of. He went off for a new career-high against Orlando and had his second fifty-point game of the season.

Kyrie Irving goes off
Going into Orlando, the Nets had the upper hand. Not only are they a better team this season, but they also had both Durant and Kyrie to suit up. However, it seems they didn’t need the Slim Reaper for the night. Kyrie took matters into his own hands and exploded for his 2nd fifty-point game in his last 3 appearances. The 7-time All-Star dazzled fans with his dominant offensive display and gave the Nets their fourth straight win.

Irving’s effort only made his case as the purest talent in the league even stronger than before. The magic had no answer to his crafty play style as KAI demolished the Magic in their home.

After watching Kevin Durant explode for 56 points against the Knicks, Irving gave fans yet another sight. He torched the Magic for 60 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals. Orlando couldn’t contain Kyrie as he helped the Nets win by a margin of 42 points. He tallied a career-high 41 points in the first half itself to set the story of the game. Kevin Durant scored 19 points while 5 other Nets players scored in double digits. With the Nets without Seth and Simmons, this is only a part of what they can do as a unit.

No one on the Orlando Magic was a match for Kyrie’s spectacular display. Cole Anthony scored the team-high 19 points for the Magic. Wendell Carter Jr. also contributed well with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 block. Rookie Franz Wagner added 16 points while his brother Moritz gave Orlando 17 points off the bench. With a solid young core on their side, the Magic can make the most out of it in due time.
But for now, the Nets are back as one of the top sides in the NBA. While the main problem with Irving’s part-time role remains, Durant will have other help. With Seth Curry and Ben Simmons being back in action, the Nets will have a different dynamic. And with the road battles, there is no doubt Kyrie Irving will be at his best. Hence, the Nets are serious threats to anyone in the league at the moment.
