Former NBA champion Kyrie Irving has landed himself in controversy yet again. A few days ago, he openly endorsed a highly controversial film based on a book that is anti-semitic. This urged the NBA and the team to take action and the whole world has been talking about the Brooklyn Nets star henceforth.

Recently, former Nets star and Celtics legend Kevin Garnett also chimed in on the Irving controversy. Talking on a podcast, Garnett touched upon how Kyrie Irving is a distraction currently. Moreover, he also talked about how the whole situation is frustrating for him on a personal level.
Former NBA champion lashes out at Nets superstar Kyrie Irving
Kyrie Irving has the whole world talking about him. A few days ago, he posted the link to a controversial anti-semitic film on his Twitter profile. Following this controversy, Irving has faced a lot of hate from all across the world.
The NBA and the Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai have also released official statements condemning Irving’s controversial opinions. Following up on similar lines, Kevin Garnett went all out on Irving.
He said, “It hasn’t been great in Brooklyn for him, and he’s a (New) Jersey kid. This is supposed his coming home. I don’t wanna go into this, because it frustrates me on some personal level. Cause he can be so much greater bro if he just focused on basketball.”
Interestingly enough, Irving defended his actions on social media during a post-game press conference. However, after stern action by the league and the team, the former NBA champion apologized for the whole thing.
Irving suspended by the team for his controversial views
Ever since Irving’s controversial tweet, the Brooklyn Nets have been very open about their stance. The Nets owner officially condemned Irving’s actions and he has been suspended for at least five games without pay.

Shortly after his suspension, the Nets star openly apologized for his behavior. The team revealed that they had made multiple attempts to help Irving understand the consequences of his actions. However, the nonchalant behavior of the star forced the team to suspend him.
