The Los Angeles Lakers finally shut down their critics their biggest win of the season against the Brooklyn Nets. That too, without LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Marc Gasol, Wesley Matthews, and Kyle Kuzma. Their newest member, Andre Drummond, led the team to a 126-101 victory against a team that had a nine-game home winning streak.

It seemed like Drummond and Ben McLemore had suited up to humiliate the Nets and show exactly why the Lakers signed them. In fact, Twitter is going nuts over this big win. Let’s have a look.

The Brooklyn Nets vs Lakers matchup was a teaser of what to expect when they have to face each other in the finals. However, the two teams were without their biggest superstars. James Harden was sidelined for the Nets, and both Anthony Davis and LeBron James were out for the Lakers.

However, the rest of the Lakers team had it handled better than any game they have played so far. While Andre Drummond broke the Nets defense from the inside, Ben McLemore did his job from the arc. The Lakers were extremely short-handed in this game. There was no way anybody had predicted the outcome in their favor.

But Dennis Schroder’s 19 points in the first half and the Lakers taking a late lead in the third, worked like a charm. With just 90 seconds left in the final quarter, the purple and gold had kept a 21 point lead. This has fans going crazy, and they couldn’t stop taking shots at the Nets while praising the Lakers.

This victory has given the Lakers fans more hope and relief. Drummond finished with 20 points and Ben with 17. Along with them, Talen Horton-Tucker, Markieff Morris, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope finished in double-digits.

This could be a turning point for the defending champions. Having a big night against one of the most dominant teams will give them the momentum they need to win games ahead of them. With a 33-20 record, they are currently standing fifth in the league.

But if they keep this up until LeBron and AD’s return, they might move up the ladder back again. Do you think the Lakers have turned over a new leaf? Or was this win a pure stroke of luck?
