Kobe Bryant was a sensation ever since his debut in the league. The Hornets drafted Kobe in the 1996 draft. However, it was the Lakers that had already made the deal to bag Kobe. He was just 18 when he played his first game for the Lakers. He entered the Lakers when they were in transition as a team. They had also drafted Shaquille O’Neal who had proven how good he was in the 4 years before teaming up with Kobe in Lakers.

Kobe and Shaq were unstoppable in the years they shared the locker room together. They won 3 NBA championships together. It was a historic three-peat for the Lakers and second in their history after 1952-54. Kobe and Shaq evidently ruled the league for almost 7 years.

Kobe and Shaq were impactful and made a great pair. However, things did not end as well as they started. Kobe’s Mamba mentality was supreme and he always had an unwavering self belief. However this came with arrogance as well. The same arrogance that made him a better player also resulted in differences between him and his teammates.

He had skipped college and was straight out of high school when he played in the NBA. The way experts used to talk about Kobe always proved the rarity of the talent he possessed. Even when he joined the Lakers and played his first game, he straight away wanted to be the marquee player of the team despite the veterans on the roster at the time. Kobe not only believed in himself but also proved everything he believed in.

This was obviously a fake one but it makes one wonder if this has some truth in it. Not to bring any criticism, but the fact that Kobe was not always on the best of terms with his teammates was one of the drawbacks of his mentality. This doesn’t make Kobe a bad player in any way. On the contrary. this made him push himself to better at all times. This will never make Kobe less of a legend and Kobe Bryant will always be considered as one of the greats.
