Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Jonathan Kuminga of the Golden State Warriors has made his mark in the 2022 NBA Rising Stars match. Interestingly enough, the 19-year-old mentioned how Kobe played a big role in his career.

The 19-year-old Congolese star made his mark in the NBA with an amazing performance in the recent Rising Stars game. Interestingly enough, Kobe played a huge role 7000 miles away in Congo as Jonathan Kuminga mentioned that he fell in love with basketball due to Kobe.
The youngster grew up watching Kobe Bryant game highlights in internet cafes and subsequently made his way in the NBA.

The 19-year-old’s first All-Star weekend
The rookie joined the likes of LaMelo Ball, Scottie Barnes, and others in Team Payton for the NBA Rising Stars game. Although his time was short, the audience got a taste of the future superstar.
As reported by NBC Sports, Kuminga came off the bench and scored 2 points. He shot 1-of-4 from the field and 0-2 from the deep. Ultimately, Team Payton fell short and lost to Team Barry with a 50-48 score.

Jonathan was a late addition to the squad. He replaced Chris Duarte of the Indiana Pacers who missed the All-Star weekend due to a toe injury.
Although Kuminga may have not made his mark yet, he is one for the future. Still, he is just 19-years-old and has the Golden State Warriors behind him. The NBA is sure to expect greatness from him soon.
