Kobe Bryant is a name that stands for dedication and hard work. Despite the fact that he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on through his book, “The Mamba Mentality.

A year ago, the world stopped when the news broke that our beloved legend player was no more. Every individual felt a shock not only in the sports world but around the globe. He passed away in a tragic helicopter crash alongside his 13-year-old daughter Gianna.

Kobe has always been known for his dedication to detail and hard work. As his book focuses on the same thing he has learned over the years in his career. By teaching the process of reaching an end result, the book aims to help readers reach their goals. Additionally, he discussed what he and LeBron James agreed on as a “Killer Mentality.

In the book, Bryant discusses the steps you need to take in order to achieve your goals. Including attitudes, motives, values, habits, behaviors, and knowledge that will assist you in succeeding. The knowledge he gives in the book is based on what Bryant did in his life and career.

The audience enjoyed watching the Hall of Farmers face off against each other in that period. Despite their on-court competition, they had a great relationship off the court. Bryant once acknowledged being a major influence on James’ thinking and serving as a contributor to his growth.

He explained in the book how he influenced James in a way that helped him become who he is today. Throughout the book, Bryant recounts many incidents about his personal life and his learning experiences, including some from James as well.

As Bryant states in the book:  I always aimed to kill the opposition. The main thing LeBron and I discussed was what constitutes a killer mentality. He watched how I approached every single practice, and I constantly challenged him and the rest of the guys.” On page 81, he describes what he taught and how the conversation went.

Then he continued: “I remember there was one half when we were messing around. I came into the locker room at half-time and asked the guys—in a less PG manner—what in the hell we were doing. In the second half, LeBron responded in a big way—he came out with a truly dominant mindset. And I’ve seen him lead that way ever since.”
