In today’s NBA, the franchises go to any extent to keep their superstars in top shape for the playoffs. In other words, they load-manage the instrumental players of their roster. From LeBron James to Stephen Curry to Kevin Durant to Luka Doncic and many others are being occasionally kept out by their respective franchises in hopes of preserving them for the playoffs. However, the aforementioned practice of the teams is often disliked by many especially the fans. As fans pay to watch their favorite players, they often get disappointed when players don’t step on the floor due to load management. However, it seems like the fans are not alone as recently a former Utah Jazz player joined them to express his views on load management.
The Jazz legend who gave his opinion about load management was one of the most durable athletes of all time. In fact, the said legend only missed 22 games in his 19-season career.

John Stockton joined the crew of ‘Sirius XM NBA Radio’ for a chat lately. During the interview, the 10x All-Star gave his take on load management. He said, “I do think it’s a danger for the league. I went to a major league baseball game once and I went to watch one player and he took the day off. My opinion of him, my opinion of the team, my opinion of baseball all dropped in a blink and I said, I’m never gonna let that happen.”
“I just don’t think that’s ok”

The now 60-year-old continued, “Kids will travel. I know one young man who lost his life trying to get to a Jazz game and got into a car accident on the way down once. And when you realize people spend their money, they spend their time, they risk a lot of things to see you play and you take the night off? I just don’t think that’s okay.”

Why do people act as if players sit out for no reason? When they sit out 99% of the time they are injured or banged up

Sick, old guy number 74859294 to say that. No one likes it, but if allows your best players to play well in the playoffs and not burn out then I’ll take the deep playoff run
