However, after spending time away from the team, Morant was welcomed back by his teammates as well as Mavericks star Kyrie Irving, making NBA fans hopeful for his return.

The Grizzlies defeated the Mavericks 112-108. Both teams played shorthanded as the Grizzlies played without Ja Morant whereas the Mavericks did not have Luka Doncic. The Mavs star had been ruled out due to a contusion in his left thigh.
