The rise of the Golden State Warriors in the 2010s completely transformed the modern-era game. The backcourt duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson left NBA fans in awe of their fabulous three-point shooting.

Fast forward to the 2020-21 NBA season, every team in the league is chucking up more three-pointers than ever. The credit goes to none other than Curry and Klay, also known as the Splash Brothers.

However, this season, fans won’t get to see Klay in action due to another gruesome injury. In Klay’s absence, Stephen Curry has been shouldering most of the scoring load for the Dubs. Thanks to Steph’s efforts, the Dubs are still in the playoff race, proving how impactful the baby-faced assassin truly is.

Mychal Thompson (Klay’s father) recently sat down for an interview with NBC Sports. During the interview, Thompson was asked about his thoughts on the dynamic duo of Steph and Klay. Mychal replied:

“I think they’re just perfect for each other. They’re the best backcourt to ever play together. Obviously I’m biased, but I think it’s the greatest backcourt ever. They’ll come back and take off right where they left off when Klay comes back next year.”

Along with the Splash Brothers, Draymond Green has also been a crucial part of the franchise throughout the years. Mychal didn’t forget to mention the chemistry between the three players during the interview as well. He said:

They have a mutual respect for each other. They know that they have to depend on each other to be successful, to win championships. So does Draymond Green. These three guys understand and respect each other’s game so much that they know they can’t win without the other one doing their job. And there’s no ego involved.”

Like Mychal mentioned, the level of respect among those three players is unparalleled. As a result, the Dubs completely dominated the league for five years.

During that time span, the organization made five trips to the finals while winning three of them. Do you agree with Mychal Thompson’s comments? Let us know in the comments section below.
