The NBA recently released new jerseys for each franchise. Nike released these jerseys in collaboration with the NBA in celebration of its 75th anniversary. They call the new jerseys ‘City Edition’ jerseys as it tries to explore a city’s zip code influences on its franchise and this reflects in the jersey’s designs. Nike began its partnership with the NBA in 2017 to explore “creative expression on the court“.
As with the other franchises, the Golden State Warriors have also released a City Edition jersey. The black and gold jersey has lightning bolts designed on the sides to honor the legacies of older Warriors’ teams. It features a hidden drop of water to honor Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, the Splash Brothers. In a recent tweet posted by the Warriors’ Twitter account, a hilarious video shows Klay Thompson diving into the water while wearing the Warriors’ new jersey.
