In 2011, Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband, Kris Humphries, was voted the ‘Most Disliked NBA Star’ ahead of LeBron James. At the time Humphries was playing for the New Jersey Nets and James was playing for the Miami Heat.
The basketball star once opened up about his career and personal life. He revealed that his basketball career was all set to be over when he was traded to the New Jersey Nets. However, he gained some momentum with his defensive work and got the backing of head coach Avery Johnson.

And he started to finally figure things out, finding his feet in the NBA. But things changed quicker than expected.
Kris Humphries opens up
Humphries wrote, “And then I met a girl who happened to be really famous, and I got married, and.?. Damn. Look, I should have known what I was getting into. I was definitely naive about how much my life was going to change. But the one thing that really bothers me is whenever people say that my marriage was fake.”
The NBA veteran admitted that he was naive, however, he said that their relationship was 100% real. He also said that it was hard when he found out that the marriage will not work out. Humphries said that it was embarrassing to go through something like that. Especially when it was public because of their popularity. He said, “But when it plays out so publicly, in front of the world, it?s a whole other level. It was brutal.”
Humphries and Kim Kardashian started dating in 2010. Then the couple got engaged in May 2011 and then tied the knot in August 2011. However, the marriage was very short-lived. Just after 72 days of marriage, Kim Kardashian shockingly filed for a divorce.

Finally, in 2013, after a lengthy battle, they reached a divorce settlement. And several media outlets reported that the marriage was fake and was a publicity stunt.
LeBron James voted most disliked player behind Humphries
According to a survey conducted by Nielsen and E-Poll Market Research that appeared on Forbes.com, LeBron James finished second behind Kris Humphries. James’ move from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Heat was one of the most hated and criticized moves in the NBA. After not being able to win a title with the Cavs for 7 seasons, LeBron decided to take his talents to South Beach.

Fans around the world scrutinized this move to form a super team with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. And the Cavs fans let their feeling known by protesting and burning LeBron James jerseys. However, it did help James get his first-ever championship in 2012. And then the Heat successfully defended their ring in 2013.

Humphries on the other hand did not gain a lot of fans due to his public divorce from Kim Kardashian.
