Joel Embiid has presented a very strong case as the MVP contender this year. He is among the favorites to receive the coveted award for the first time in his career. The Philadelphia 76ers star has averaged 33.1 points per game this season. With his MVP-level performance, Embiid has led his team to a strong 3-0 lead in the playoffs against the Brooklyn Nets.
Owing to his impressive run this season, Embiid earned himself the tag of “big bully” from a fellow NBA star. Currently on a dream run, the 76ers center might have some really bad news coming his way. The latest update on his health has sent the NBA fandom into a meltdown.

Embiid picked up a knee injury during game 3 of the playoffs. He went for a block at the rim and in the process ended up picking an injury. The 76ers coach Doc Rivers revealed that Embiid had his knee checked right after the game. He was complaining of soreness and swelling behind his knee.
As the medical staff realized that it is way too soon for the knee to swell so badly, they did an MRI. As feared, Embiid’s MRI reports did not turn out well. Rivers said that he hates those three letters, as the result is mostly bad after that. The veteran coach added, “Whenever they tell the coach, ‘Hey, we’re going to get an MRI,’ it doesn’t turn out well most of the time. And this one did not.”
The MVP contender is very crucial for his team, as he has put up several game-winning performances this season. Embiid’s run has been so good that Draymond Green even called him a “big bad bully”. After Embiid’s altercation with Nic Claxton, Green said that they have to go extra hard on him because he is that good. Green had added, “Joel?s the big bad bully. Not because Joel Embiid is the big bad bully literally. Because he is that good.”?Currently, it seems like the “big bad bully” will be sitting out game 4, at least partially. As per the 76ers coach, he is “not sure” if Embiid will return in the first round.
