The Los Angeles Lakers have been on their best in the last few games. Despite LeBron James producing great basketball, they have not ended up on the winning side. In their recent loss to the Denver Nuggets, their offense couldn’t get it going as they lost by a humongous 37 points.

Nuggets’ Davon Reed spoke about his defensive assignment on LeBron James and how he wanted that moment for a long time.

The King has been playing unreal basketball this season. Being 37 has not slowed him down as he has only gone on to step up his offensive game. James is putting up some career numbers, and he is doing it consistently for the Lake show. However, even he has some tough days in the office.

Davon Reed gets his revenge on LeBron James

While LeBron was the highest scoring Laker against the Nuggets, he didn’t enjoy the best of the nights. One of the big reasons for that was Reed’s defense on the King. He made things really hard for James as the Akron Hammer struggled to have an efficient game. After the game, the 26-YO revealed he was only getting revenge from his rookie season.

The shooting guard expressed: “I have been waiting for that moment for a while. LeBron killed me in my rookie year and I had to get my revenge.”

Reed sure did a great job of containing James in that game. Facing him off for the first time since his rookie season, he kept LeBron to just 39% shooting from the field. He got some crucial stops for Denver and never let James get settled into his rhythm.

For the Lakers, James still put up 25 points in the loss. He was the only Laker who scored over 20 points. On the other hand, the Nuggets just overwhelmed the purple and gold. All their starters scored in double digits. They were the better team on the night and did everything right.
