Fiserv Forum was going wild as the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Phoenix Suns in Game 4. Khris Middleton powered Milwaukee over the Suns with his 4th quarter heroics to level the series. Now, they will head to Phoenix for the crucial Game 5. The Bucks won 109-103 after trailing at halftime.
The man of the hour, Khris Middleton, went on a tear as he scored 40 points in the win. He hit clutch shots and went perfect from the free-throw line in the 4th quarter.
Giannis Antetokounmpo added 26 points, 8 assists, and 3 steals. He also had an unbelievable block on Suns’ DeAndre Ayton in the 4th quarter.

For Suns, it was young star, Devin Booker, who scored 42 points. Despite his effort, the Suns lost because Book couldn’t play the entire fourth quarter due to foul trouble.
Apart from him, Crowder had a good all-around game with 15 points, 3 steals, and 3 blocks. Chris Paul had a second bad game in a row as he added just 10 points. No other Suns player apart from Devin Booker crossed the 20 point mark.
Khris Middleton a big-time player
A 40 point mammoth performance by Middleton was the reason the Bucks could even the series. Middleton took over in the 4th quarter for the Bucks as he scored 10 of the last 12 points, including clutch free throws at the end.
Middleton’s presence is often overshadowed due to Giannis Antetokounmpo. However, Giannis had nothing but praise for his fellow All-star teammate. He said that the day Khris retires will be the toughest day of his career.
Now, this is not the first time that Middleton has carried the Bucks past the finish line in these playoffs. One of the notable ones was his performance against Atlanta in Game 3.
He scored 20 points in the 4th quarter alone, ending with 38 points. He became the only Bucks player to have a 20 point 4th quarter in the playoffs over the last 25 seasons. Moreover, the last time any Bucks player scored 20 points in any quarter was also Khris Middleton.
Middleton hit the dagger against Miami in Game 1 with half a second left in the game. Furthermore, it isn’t just the 4th quarter where Middleton has been the man.
In Game 6 against Atlanta, he scored 16 straight points in the third quarter to give the Bucks a convincing lead and help them reach an NBA finals for the first time in almost 50 years!
Khris Middleton may have a few bad games here and there, but he can switch it up at any point in the game, which is what makes him a huge threat.
Is Giannis actually Robin?
NBA analyst, Kendrick Perkins, said that Khris Middleton is the Batman for Bucks, while Giannis Antetokounmpo is Robin. However, this is not entirely true. While Giannis has the ability to be the man in the first 3 quarters, he relies on Middleton to be the man in the 4th because of his ability to make shots.
Giannis is not a great shooter, and he is aware of that. Hence, he makes the game for Middleton who can make tough shots when it matters the most.
Their duo can be compared to Shaq and Kobe, where Shaq would dominate the entire game, but Kobe was the man to make shots when it mattered the most. Shaw called their duo Superman and Batman, which seems fitting for the Bucks’ stars as well.
Giannis is great in his own realm while Middleton is an equally important piece for the Bucks. Their on-court chemistry has now transcended to Bucks being 2 games away from being crowned NBA champions.
