Is Kyrie Irving in trouble again? It has been reported that Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving will not be available for media interviews moving forward. The NBA player recently garnered attention for his controversial tweet. Moreover, the franchise too has condemned Irving’s actions. On top of that, the Nets’ game against the Indiana Pacers only ended up making matters worse for Irving.

Following Irving’s controversial action, New York Post’s Brian Lewis reported that the Nets point guard will not be facing any suspension. Therefore, Irving was seen among the starters at the team’s Saturday night game. The Brooklyn Nets faced the Indiana Pacers on October 29, 2022 at Barclays Center. Despite Irving scoring 35 points, the Pacers defeated the Nets by 125-116. It seemed like the loss did not sit well with Irving, as he was visibly frustrated during the postgame interview. Things turned worse when he was asked about his recent tweet.

It might be possible that the Nets’ decision to not include Irving for the media interviews was influenced by his outburst. However, no such thing has been confirmed yet. Nevertheless, this might have just landed Irving into further trouble, the same trouble he had about two years ago.

NBA fined Kyrie Irving for avoiding the media

In 2020, the Brooklyn Nets and Kyrie Irving were each fined $25,000 for violation of league rules. NBA explained that the fine was imposed due to Irving’s refusal to appear in media interviews. Irving does not have the best relationship with the media and reportedly does not trust them. The Nets superstar has often landed himself in trouble for saying something he is not supposed to. In early December, Irving released a statement instead of participating in a Nets’ media week interview.

“I am truly excited for the season to start and I am also praying that everyone remains safe and healthy throughout this journey. Instead of speaking to the media today, I am issuing this statement to ensure that my message is conveyed properly,” wrote Irving.

Evidently, this did not sit well with the league which then took the action against Irving and the Brooklyn Nets for violating the rules. As of now, it is yet to be confirmed if the league will fine the team again for Irving’s absence from the media interview.
