Steve Nash is one of the most accomplished players ever to have played the game of basketball. The two NBA league MVP was a menacing point guard. He led the Phoenix Suns seven seconds or less offense which took the league by storm. During his time with the Suns, they were perennial contenders in the Western Conference but never reached the NBA Finals.

After being in Phoenix for eight years, he left for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2012. But his time with the Lakers was not as successful as with the Suns. After retiring in 2015, Nash acted as a consultant for the Golden State Warriors starting in 2016.
After being part of various backroom staffs, Nash became the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets in 2020. In his two years as the head coach, the Nets have qualified for the playoffs in both seasons but haven’t gone beyond the second round yet.

In an old interview, Steve Nash talked about his magnetism and charisma. He said, “I?d like to say he thought I had a magnetism and charisma beyond my pay grade. Maybe Loy was just having fun and keeping it light because I don?t know that when I played with Loy, I had any sort of magnetism or charisma.”
He said this in reference to when asked, “What do you think Mavericks teammate Loy Vaught meant when he said this about you to the Dallas Morning News: He?s got that Clint Eastwood thing going.”

Brooklyn Nets and the offseason of uncertainty
The super team experiment in Brooklyn has not been going as well as initially hoped. The 2019-20 season was a washout because Kevin Durant was still recovering from his Achilles injury. In the 20-21 season, they traded for James Harden salvaging all their picks and assets.
But they would lose to eventual champions, the Bucks, in seven games in the second round.

This year, due to team chemistry issues, they were the seventh seed. The Boston Celtics swept them in four games. There was uncertainty about Kyrie Irving opting out of his player option before opting in. Shortly, Kevin Durant demanded a trade and still hasn’t rescinded. This will surely be a tough pill to handle for Sean Marks and company.
