Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics have finally found their form this season after a topsy-turvy first half. In the latest matchup against the Nets, Tatum powered his team to a victory with an epic 54 point performance.
The win gave the Celtics their 39th win of the season and put them in the fifth seed of the Eastern Conference.

In contrast to the Celtics’ success, Kevin Durant and the Nets began the season on a high, but are now hanging by a thread for playoff contention. Despite Durant’s heroics, his Nets now sit in the 9th seed below the 0.500 mark.
To make matters worse, it seems like Durant’s trolling of Tatum and the Celtics has backfired and fans were quick to react to it.
Kevin Durant Trolls Jayson Tatum and the Celtics
Team USA had a successful 2020 Olympic run in Tokyo. They took home the Gold Medal after defeating France in the finale. Following this was Kevin Durant’s celebrations, where he congratulated Patty Mills on helping Australia finish third, and trolled Tatum and new Celtics coach, Ime Udoka.
“There’s going to be problems for the Boston Celtics this year,” exclaimed KD.
However, this trolling has fired back on him, especially after Tatum’s 54 point performance, and the Nets going below 0.500. This led to fans trolling KD back for his statements.
Wow! How ironic that Tatum was the one that’s the problem for the whole nets team today.

Clearly, the Celtics’ confidence appears sky high, while the Nets are back at the drawing board looking for answers for a turnaround.
The Contrast
The Brooklyn Nets started off the season as expected. Despite Kyrie’s initial absence, KD led his team to a 27-15 record prior to getting injured. Following his injury, the Nets would endure an eleven-game losing streak that drastically lowered their standing in the East.

Once Harden was traded, many around the league felt that the Nets got the right pieces in return, especially Ben Simmons. However, he has yet to suit up this season. Now that KD has returned, the Nets will look to bounce back after losing two consecutive games.
On the other hand, the Celtics have moved in a strong upward trend of late. Led by the trio of Tatum, Marcus Smart, and Jaylen Brown, the franchise has begun to live up to its expectations. Bouncing around the 0.500 mark, the Celtics did not look like a team that would last long in the postseason if they made it there.

However, since January, the team found its rhythm. In fact, they currently have a record of 8-2 over their last 10 games. If they continue to trend in this manner, we could see the Larry O’Brien trophy in Boston. However, only time has the answers to the fate of the Nets and Celtics this season.
