The Warriors won the first duel and came into the second one with confidence after breaking the regular season record. And they took an early 3-1 lead. However, the Cavs came back stronger to win the title. This was the first time a team has lost in the finals after going 3-1 up.
After this painful defeat, the Warriors made a blockbuster move to bring Kevin Durant to play alongside Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Durant was already one of the best players in the league and a matchup nightmare for everyone. Curry and Thompson now have another superstar to shoulder the offense.

Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson formed a deadly partnership and dominated the league. There were huge expectations, and they faced them with style. The Warriors again faced the Cavs in the finals and won the title comfortably. Durant won his first-ever ring and also clinched the Finals MVP award. Next year, they faced yet again in the finals. This time the Warriors swept the Cavs. And KD again won the Finals MVP award.
The next year, however, the Warriors shockingly lost to the Toronto Raptors in the Finals. After conflicts inside the team, Durant left and joined the Brooklyn Nets. As per reports, Curry found out about this while he was on a flight to meet Durant face-to-face.

He once admitted that he was a little insecure when he first started playing with Durant. ?I might have just internalized this as the point guard and like the guy that felt like I had to get everybody involved, there?s a little insecurity like, ?There?s so much talent. The arrival of KD also required some changes in the way the Warriors operated. Before, the offense was designed mostly around Curry. He knew that KD could help them and slowing down a bit would help him to be ready for the playoffs.
