Things have spiced up on Twitter in recent days. While it’s always like that about something or the other. This time around it’s Kevin Durant ‘name calling’ Stephen A. Smith, Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe. The three are well known as NBA analysts. They are often correct in their judgment and words. But, there are also many times when their opinion turns out to be an ‘unpopular’ one.

That is the basic part and parcel of their job. However, everyone would agree that the three are ruthless most times than not when talking about a player or a team. That is why it was Kevin Durant in defense of a conversation which involved Stephen Curry and Michael Jordan.
While Skip and Shannon are on the same show, The Undisputed, KD replied to the opinion of Stephen A. Smith on First Take. KD took the names of Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless along with Stephen whom he was replying to or defending against. The conversation was about whether Stephen Curry and Michael Jordan have changed the game.
If they have, is it for better or for worse? KD did not understand how the two greats of the game could change the game for the worse and hence he spoke his mind.
My theory is that guys like steve, skip and Shannon have changed the game for the worse. Playas like Stephen and Michael can only push the game forward. https://t.co/0Oc9J2HqxS

Kevin Durant defends his opinion over fierce Twitter exchange
KD called Stephen, Skip and Shannon vultures following Stephen’s opinion of how Michael Jordan changed the game for the worse. A fellow ESPN reporter confronted KD in an exchange.
KD, honest question: Are there any NBA journalists whose takes you respect? Who should we be following for solid basketball commentary?

Watch the games on mute and think for yourself. That always helps
— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) June 2, 2022
Yeah, I mean, there are literally hundreds of writers, broadcasters, and commentators who have solid takes. The fact that he won't name one and then tells us to watch the games on mute says all you need to know.

What did it say Juan?
— Kevin Durant (@KDTrey5) June 2, 2022
That you don't like the way you're covered so you want to turn everyone off to everyone in the media. Wouldn't it be more effective and fair to point fans in the right direction to people whose opinions you respect? Or do you not respect anyone else's opinion?

Just warning other basketball junkies bout the vultures. That’s it Juan, consume basketball how u want. No need to let me get you riled up. Lol

You’re upset and want to take up for your colleagues around the world, I get it. I hope your basketball watching experience gets better man

This all started when Stephen A. Smith added in on the conversation about the impact Michael Jordan had.
He said, “My brother, the guy I love so much that I believe is the greatest player to have ever played, Michael Jordan is responsible as much as anybody for changing the game for the worse. This is throwing no shade on Michael Jordan of course he’s the greatest ever in my estimation, number one. but he was so phenomenal that the NBA marketed the individual, the audience gravitated towards the individual and the game became a bit more individualized.”

While he said this about MJ, he said that Stephen Curry did not change the game much but rather elevated it with his shooting abilities. According to him, Steph made himself a class apart. He said that Steph elevated the game in a way that people found it acceptable to find more players with shooting talents remotely close to what Steph possesses.
Now in all fairness even if Smith said MJ changed the game for the worse, he complimented the fact that he was just multiple levels above everyone else. And with Steph he complimented his game. So from KD’s standpoint, it was an opportunity of sorts to speak his mind about the media indulging in such debates.
