Kevin Durant once received a brutal reality check from Chicago Bulls legend Dennis Rodman on national television. In fact, Rodman admonished Durant for complaining about insignificant things instead of focusing on the more crucial elements of being a basketball player at the highest level. Subsequently, the five-time NBA champion proceeded to underline the fundamental flaws that Kevin Durant displays in his outlook on basketball.
In 2019, Dennis Rodman appeared on ESPN’s The Jump to promote his ’30 for 30′ documentary. During the broadcast, host Rachel Nichols asked Rodman about his opinion on some of Durant’s latest comments on the Golden State Warriors dynasty. Incidentally, KD had made some comments to the Wall Street Journal about feeling like an outsider during his stint with the Dubs.

In response, the seven-time NBA rebounding champion brazenly called out the 2014 MVP. With former teammate Scottie Pippen by his side, the 6’7″ forward didn’t hold back on his criticisms.

Dennis Rodman reprimanded Kevin Durant on national television after the two-time world champion expressed discontent over his treatment in San Francisco. Incidentally, a large section of fans and the media didn’t approve of KD’s decision to join the Warriors.
In fact, the two-time Finals MVP received a lot of flak for creating a ‘super team’ in the West Coast. Therefore, KD often felt the need to fire back at his detractors. However, Rodman was having none of it.
“I think it is very selfish of KD, seriously,” he said. Then added, “I don’t care if he’s listening this or not. Don’t really care.”
Subsequently, he proceeded to point out the stark difference in his and KD’s approach to the game. Rodman claimed that he never played basketball for the big bucks. Rather he played to have an impact on fans.

In other words, he played to be a part of something great. On the contrary, Durant plays basketball for completely different reasons, Rodman pointed out.
KD’s future in Brooklyn
Recently, Brooklyn Nets GM Sean Marks revealed that Kevin Durant has rescinded his trade request. In other words, the Nets superstar will play the upcoming season for Brooklyn on a four-year $198 million deal.
