Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics are in a commanding position against the Brooklyn Nets. They took a 2-0 series lead after winning game 2 in a dramatic fashion. The Celtics were down by 17 despite Kevin Durant shooting poorly for the second game in a row. But they managed to claw their way back and secure the victory.
Durant had struggled in the first game and many had touted him to have a big game. However, the Celtics played some incredible defense on him. They held him to 27 points on 4-17 shooting. In the entire second half, Durant didn’t make a single shot.

He was 0-10 from the field. Celtics held one of the greatest scorers of this generation to 0 made shots. Durant had some comments about his performance.
Kevin Durant complains that the Celtics are sending multiple players on him
Durant talked about how the Celtics were defending him post-game. He said, “They’re playing two, three guys off me sometimes on me when I’m off the ball,” Durant said.

“They’re mucking up actions when I run off stuff ? I see [Al] Horford leaving his man to come over and hit me sometimes. Two or three guys hit me wherever I go. And that’s just the nature of the beast in the playoffs.”
“I feel like I got a couple good shots there in the fourth that just didn’t go down, but I see a few of their guys around me every time I get the ball, and so I got to be more patient, but also play fast sometimes, too.”

In his entire career, Durant has always had an answer for anything he has faced. But this Celtics team is something else. They are harassing and making him feel bodies whenever possible. They did foul him a lot as Durant went 18-20 from the line. But he did not make a shot in the second half. That is unprecedented. Durant will have to try something different or the Nets will be in very serious trouble.
