An article was published in 2017 by GQ detailing all the highlights from Kevin Durant’s career. In the piece, he talked about his relationship with other players, his move to a new team, as well as some of his off-court anecdotes. GQ’s Zach Baron spent some time with Durant during his visit to India. During that KD revealed, he felt like character “Hancock” when Rihanna attended his game for the first time.
As he talked about his game, especially when he was leaving Oklahoma City for the Golden State Warriors, Durant felt the decision was fair to him. However, while playing his very first match, he heard a voice say “Brick!” And it was none other than Rihana. She was sitting at courtside, watching him play.

For Kevin Durant, adjusting to his new popularity took some time
With his performance on his first game with the Warriors, Durant made a good impression. The Warriors won the championship in his very first season with the franchise. This provided Durant with the reassurance that he had made the right decision. For him, it was a new experience because he knew that the world was only going to grow and grow.
He was at the free-throw line during Game 1 of his game with the Warriors. Suddenly, he heard a voice of women shouting “Brick!” with every shot he fired. Looking over, he realized she was Rihanna, who was watching his game from the courtside.
Durant said it was a special occasion for him, as he said, “Rihanna never came to my game before unless we were in L.A. She didn’t come to a home game of mine before. Jay-Z and all these people who come…that amount of attention for me is like, you ever seen, Hancock?”

Continuing, Durant said “Do you remember when he had to walk into that event and all these cameras were flashing, and he just didn’t know how to smile? That’s me sometimes. I get a little overwhelmed at that shit. Because, man, I can remember me cooking up as a kid by myself. Now millions of people are watching me play? That’s an adjustment, bro.”
Durant is one of the best players in the NBA today and his game is improving with each performance. In his role as a player for the Brooklyn Nets, he is among the best.
