The Brooklyn Nets vs Golden State Warriors matchup is more than just a game, it’s personal. Kevin Durant, who was a former teammate of the Dubs, has a sour history with them and its fans, so both teams were out for each other’s blood in this one. However, the Warriors ended up winning this battle to Steph’s incredible performance, once again.

The clash of the titans featured two of the MVP candidates, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant. In fact, surprisingly, the Barclays Center heard cheers of MVP not just for KD but Steph as well. This goes to show how intense the match ended up being. Unfortunately for the Nets, the Warriors put an end to their two-game winning streak. But Durant has nothing but respect for his former teammate, Steph.

The Warriors had just come off a loss against the Charlotte Hornets after seven straight wins. So, they had far more momentum on their side than them. On top of that, the Dubs definitely had more players that Steph could rely on, unlike the Nets, who mostly had James Harden and Kevin Durant contributing to the scoreboard.

The Warriors and Nets were at par for most of the first half. They kept surpassing each other in turns to keep the lead. This had everyone guessing who would ended up on the winning end. However, it was the second half of the game that completely turned it around for the Warriors.

They could outscore the Nets 35-18, which was too much for the Brooklyn Nets to recover from. They made an attempt to catch up to them in the fourth, but they were too far behind to close the gap. The game ended with a blowout 117-99 win for the Dubs. Stephen Curry led the way with a whopping 37 point performance. Wiggins had 19 points, followed by Jordan Poole’s 16 points.

Although it seemed like the Warriors and KD had some bad blood, Durant spoke quite highly about Steph after their encounter. “He’s playing at a MVP & Hall of Famer type level. I learned from them while I was there in Golden State and they learned from me as well,” he stated.

In the midst of the game, fans received the great news that Klay Thompson has taken a big step towards his eventual comeback predicted to be around Christmas Day.

However, the question is if his sudden presence will disrupt the well-oiled machine the Warriors have been running this season? Or will it be the perfect last ingredient to become the best team?

This will remain an enigma until Thompson actually comes back. He will obviously be eased into the games, playing a few minutes at first and then so on and so forth. If Klay can fit right in and plays nearly as good as he did before his injuries, other teams are definitely in big trouble.
