One of the most unexpected finds of this season has been Chicago Bulls’ DeMar DeRozan. In spite of having played in the NBA for over a decade, nobody anticipated such an outing from him this year. Switching to the Bulls, a franchise that he grew up falling in love with, DeMar is leading them to a fine regular season finish. And recognizing the same, Brooklyn Nets’ Kevin Durant has lauded the 32-year-old.

Arguably two of the finest forwards in the game at the moment, Kevin Durant and DeMar DeRozan have showcased their individual brilliance so far. Putting up a show almost every other night, their respective sides were excelling up until a point.
Although the Bulls continue to prove their might, KD’s recent injury has caused a sudden drop in the standings for Brooklyn. Additionally, fans weren’t too pleased when the 33-year-old praised his fellow competitor.

NBA fans hit back after Kevin Durant heaps praise on DeMar DeRozan
Multiple records have been broken this year and many of them by DeRozan himself. Meanwhile, 2-time NBA champion Durant has been in the thick of things of late. Following a trade window that culminated in the franchise losing James Harden, Kevin has caused numerous outbursts. However, he tipped his hat off to DeRozan on Thursday, saying “Thank you for setting a great example and playing the game with supreme skill @demar_derozan.”

Regardless of the fact that Durant’s statement was made in good taste, NBA Twitter took no time to bash the superstar for the same. Several reactions poured in, many of which criticized KD. While one fan commented, “KD gonna join the Bulls now ‘my next chapter’,” someone else stated, “He didn’t run from the grind like you did.” Evidently, there was a vast diversity in the responses.

Although it wasn’t met with the expected kindness, it was a wonderful gesture from Durant, in appreciation of a man in form. Interestingly, the pair could face one another in the first round of the playoffs, if the current standings remain. Who are you backing in such a match-up?
