As a result of the outburst of the pandemic, it has been difficult for a lot of teams to keep up with a lot of things, including maintaining their position on the table, covering the lack of players – all of this while following the NBA health and safety protocols. In the course of the season, the news came out that Kyrie Irving was not going to play for the team. Kevin Durant talked about Kyrie making the news clear:

“Definitely want Kyrie to be around,” the forward told the media, “I wish none of this stuff would happen, but this is the situation that we are in. Kyrie made his decision on what he wanted to do and he chose to do what he wanted to do, and the team did the same.”

Kevin Durant discussed Kyrie’s return to the Nets in a recent episode of the ETCs.

For Kyrie, it’s more than just an opportunity. As he stated: “Not going to lie. It’s been relatively tough to watch from the sideline. … But if I get the opportunity to get on the court and play with some of my teammates, even if it’s just on the road for away games, I’m grateful for that opportunity.”

It is not known when Kyrie will make his debut for the Nets, but it is said that it might happen in the match against the Indiana Pacers, or in their next competition against the Chicago Bulls. Seeing the two players back on the court performing side by side will be interesting, as many have been waiting to see them play.
