The Brooklyn Nets took on the New York Knicks at the Madison Square Garden on Wednesday. This is the second game after they sent James Harden to the 76ers in exchange for Ben Simmons. Kevin Durant continued to sit out as he recovers from his MCL injury.
The Knicks came out hot, and they had a 20 point lead at the end of the first quarter. With this lead, they surely looked to be cruising to another victory. But the Nets had other plans. They fought hard in the third quarter and cut the lead to 11. Then they had a great 4th quarter, which allowed them to emerge victoriously. The Knicks could never recover from this comeback and they ended up losing the game. However, this is not the first time the Knicks have blown 20+ point leads.

Kevin Durant had a lot of fun on the bench as the Nets completed an improbable comeback. And the Nets fans were really loud at MSG. Durant then went to Twitter to take a shot at the Knicks and their fans.

🐍, Stop trying to convince yourself you did the right thing by going to play for the poverty franchise in NYC instead of playing at the Mecca every night. Sincerely, an unbiased Celtics fan.

You’ve played 71 games with the Nets in 2.5yrs. Maybe focus on trying to stay healthy rather than trying to troll the Knicks. 🧁

You don’t sell out playoff games. RELAX. Your team has to cut promos. Knicks/Hawks was more live than any game at the Barclays. And knicks fans are way louder in BK. Come talk to us when you acknowledge Benoit Benjamin, Drazen, Kenny, Keith and Kerry. And Jay Will. #burner

The Knicks came out guns blazing, but in the third, the Nets flipped a switch as they looked alive and energetic. Then in the fourth, they went to a higher gear and turned the screws on the Knicks as they completed their biggest comeback of the season.
Julius Randle led all scorers with 31 points and he was supported by Quickley and Fournier who had 18 and 16 points, respectively. For the Nets, it was Cam Thomas who led the way with 21 points. Seth Curry continued to impress in his new team as he ended up with 20 points. The Nets will take on the Washington Wizards next, while the Knicks will take on the Miami Heat after the all-star break.
