The NBA community will wholeheartedly agree that LeBron James is among the greatest players to have played in the league. The ‘King’ continues to put up staggering numbers, which makes him appear as though he is reversing time itself. In fact, he recently had 2 games with at least 50 points and became the first player to have at least 30K points, 10K assists, and 10K rebounds. This has led to several fans claiming that he is the Greatest of All-Time (GOAT). However, there are some more fans who have a different view.

They consider Kevin Durant to be better than LeBron. One such person who shares this view is Skip Bayless.

During a recent episode on the ‘Skip and Shannon: UNDISPUTED’ show, Bayless argued with Shannon Sharpe over why Kevin Durant was greater than LeBron James. Despite Sharpe speaking in favor of the ‘King’, Bayless stated one important reason behind why KD is greater.

“You’re missing a closer because LeBron James has never been a closer. Kevin Durant is the ultimate closer,” said Bayless.

Bayless then supported his claim with an example from the 2020 Olympics Gold Medal game where KD sealed the win with two clutch free throws. Clearly, Bayless feels that LeBron’s inability to close games puts KD above him.

However, in the NBA this season, LeBron has averaged more points than KD in the 4th quarter. Moreover, LeBron also averages more assists and rebounds than Durant this season. So in reality, it is a tough call to make with regards to who the greater player is. Regardless, it looks like KD seems to be enjoying a better season than LeBron. This is simply due to the fact that the Nets have won more games than the Lakers.

Moreover, KD being younger than LeBron gives him more opportunities to win than LeBron. Maybe we could see KD too entering the 30K, 10K, and 10K clubs as well.
