It is not the first time former LA Clippers star Blake Griffin has explored fields of comedy and roasting in the off-season. Blake Griffin was a part of the Comedy Central’s roast of Alec Baldwin in September 2019. Blake is known to have impeccable timing and can both crack a joke and take it.

Also, not so long ago, Griffin faced roast master Jeff Ross in a Comedy Central Roast Battle, and Ross did not hold back. Some topics of the roasts were Blake Griffin’s ex-girlfriend, Kendall Jenner, his departure from the Clippers, and him playing for Detroit.

Amateur roaster Blake Griffin was asked how different roasting is to trash-talk in the NBA, and to this, he responded, “All the trash talk you do in the NBA is just kind of like, one on one, no one else is really listening, so this is a little different when you’re on stage in front of a crowd. Mic’d up for a tv show. Getting judged by my pals is going to be tough, but it’s another thing that battlers have to go through all the time.”

His friend Pete Davidson was one of the judges of the roast and had a great time at Blake’s expense. Some of the roasts, particularly on Blake and Kendall Jenner, were quite witty. The icing on the cake was watching Pete Davidson, who is dating celebrity Kim Kardashian, laughing as Jeff Ross roasted Jenner for dating former 76ers star, Ben Simmons right after Blake Griffin.

Comedian Jeff Ross said, “Blake, everyone knows you recently dated Kendall Jenner… And just like the Clippers, Kendall eventually traded you for another basketball player, man.”

Blake Griffin and Kendall Jenner dated until he was in Los Angeles playing as a Clipper. Griffin is not the first pro basketball athlete Kendall has been paired with. The list includes the likes of Ben Simmons, D’Angelo Russel, and Jordan Clarkson.

Griffin dodged Clippers jokes with a few roasts of his own

The then 28-year-old Griffin averaged 22.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 5.4 assists in 33 games. But the Clippers traded their superstar, who had signed a 5-year extension in a shocking trade. Griffin was one of the best players to don the Clippers jersey and was their second-highest all-time scorer with 10,863 points; it was quite a talking point in the league.

Surprisingly, with all the roasts thrown at Griffin, he held his ground and actually dished a few of his own.

Griffin said, “Jeff, you know when people talk about the best basketball player of all time, they refer to them as the GOAT. And when people talk about the best roast master of all time, they refer to him as Anthony Jeselnik.
