The Lakers made quite some trades in 2021. One of them acquired former MVP, Russell Westbrook. The team added the veteran to add up a scorer on the team, in hopes of contending for a title after being beaten by the Suns in the 2021 playoffs. Though the team didn’t even manage to qualify for the Play-In tournament. There were a lot of factors to this disappointment. Injuries, players’ performance, and consistency of the roster had messed up the process.
Now that the season is over for the Lakers, there are quite a few teams that are interested in a Westbrook trade.

As for the Knicks, the addition of Westbrook wouldn’t really make much of a difference. Knicks already have guards like RJ Barrett and Kemba Walker. For now, the Knicks have been eliminated from any playoff contention.
Westbrook played for the Rockets in the 2019-20 season. Going back to Houston now wouldn’t be exactly good for Russ. The team has a young roster and is in the process of rebuilding. Though Hornets might be a great destination for Westbrook. For a team that’s young like the Hornets, they’ve been doing pretty well in the East. Westbrook’s presence in Charlotte might help the young guys learn from the veteran.
