Kevin Durant has played three games for the Phoenix Suns so far with fans now waiting for his home debut. However, it seems they will have to wait a bit longer, since Durant got sidelined prior to the game after taking a scary fall during the pregame workout. Another player to now fall prey to collateral damage is Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic.

Doncic, who has surprised the NBA world with his tenacity, suffered an injury to his left thigh too during the game against the New Orleans Pelicans today. Doncic split the opponents and went to the rim for a beautiful spin move. He was seen limping back on his way back on defense.

During a break, Doncic was seen getting bandaged by the Mavericks training staff. What was impressive was his resilience to play through the pain for his team. Later, unfortunately, he could not return to the game after play resumed, when the pain had seemingly gotten worse.

His display of strength led to fans drawing comparisons of him with Kevin Durant.

One fan tweeted, ?KD would need 2yrs off.?

Another fan commented, ?Durant actually finished warmups the team is just being cautious. I’d rather him sit out than to risk further injury especially just coming back from injury. They wouldn’t hear the end of it if he plays and gets injured.?

Here are a few more reactions from fans on Twitter:

Some fans also defended Durant and sympathized with him for having hurt himself before his debut at home, while praise for Doncic and his will to play ran through most of the comments.

The fall led to his omission from the squad today. It would have been his homecourt debut for the Suns had he played, but Phoenix evidently did not want to take any chances. While several fans poked fun at Durant, the video shows how he twisted his ankle pretty clearly. As such, comparing 24-year-old Doncic with the 34-year-old may not be entirely fair.
