Wade and Gabrielle have each achieved enormous success in their respective careers. In fact, when their work schedules grew too demanding, they would go months without seeing each other. While Gabrielle was always on the road for her film shoots, her husband was busy carving up a spectacular basketball career. However, the situation in their household has changed significantly since Wade’s retirement.

The couple recently came on as guests on “The Kelly Clarkson Show”. The host asked Gabrielle whether it has been nice to have her husband home since he set his basketball powers to rest. To this, the 49-year-old actress had an interesting answer.

“It has gotten nice,”?she said. “Initially, our careers were on opposite coasts, so we were never really home together for long stretches of time. So it would be like, every morning, Oh! There you are,”?Gabrielle added.

Kelly Clarkson then pointed towards Wade and remarked that post-retirement transitioning must have been weird for him as well. The former Miami Heat star responded hilariously as he thanked her and stated that no one ever asked him whether it was weird for him as well. He then went on to describe how it has been for him to adjust after retiring.

Dwyane Wade retired from the NBA in 2019, capping off a legendary career. He crafted a storied career and loaded his trophy cabinet with numerous accolades. However, this required him to not see his loved ones for months.

Kelly Clarkson asked Wade for his side of the story and how he’s adjusting to life at home after retiring. She compared his situation to that of musicians, stating that they are constantly on the road, which can be challenging for a relationship. Clarkson stated that it is difficult to place oneself in a situation when the family is already doing their own thing.

To this Wade said, “So I just had to be quiet for like the first six months. Yeah, just shut up and listen.”

“I found my space in the house now,” he subsequently added and also?hilariously mentioned that he is getting his money worth given the rent he is paying.

It is understandable that things might have been a little weird initially in the Wade household following the player’s retirement from the game. However, it’s comforting to see that they’ve finally adjusted and that Dwyane Wade is finding his own space at home.
