The Golden State Warriors came into the season as the favorites to defend their title once again. But their play has been underwhelming, to say the least, and many players have not lived up to their mark. However, that does not include Stephen Curry, who is having possibly the best season of his life at the age of 34. Curry is averaging 32.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 6.4 assists with absurd shooting percentages of 53% from the field, 44% from three-point range, and 92% from the free throw line.
With Curry balling out and the Warriors still struggling to win games, many have compared this squad to the 2018 Cleveland Cavaliers. The 2018 Cavs are considered among the worst teams to ever make it to the NBA Finals. LeBron James had a historic season and he willed the Cavs to the Finals with some incredible performances.
A Stephen Curry vs LeBron James debate erupts as Warriors struggles continue
Amidst all the Cavs and Warriors comparisons, a Curry vs LeBron debate has erupted on Twitter.
Here are some of the reactions from NBA Twitter:
You can make the excuse cuz Steph is just not in the same stratosphere as Bron as an overall basketball player. It’s a tall order. https://t.co/ZzMozjN3Cv

I remember the stans even started mentioning folks like Deron Williams as a former all star just to push their agenda that Bron had “tons of help” 😂

It’s not even close lol
When Jeff green is your 2nd best player on the way to the finals, you got major issues 😂😂😂— tank johnson (@CalistudJohn) November 17, 2022
It's actually an insult to compare D champ team with all the key players from 2022 chip all healthy to mostly garbage cav team.

You put @KingJames in that roster right now they prolly would just have about 2-3 losses. #justsaying 🤷🏻♂️

Which version? The Cavs to begin the season, midseason, or the playoff LeBron edition? I'm kidding 😂
There's no comparison. The kids have championship hangover and maybe this Draymond stuff really put a rift between them. Mike Brown isn't there either.

Not just better. Top 5 team in the league star/talent wise easily.

The Warriors need to find a way to help Curry

The Warriors decided to go through the season with the majority of their squad intact. They decided to keep the young talent in the squad along with the veterans. They were hoping that their young stars could finally step up to the plate. But that hasn’t happened so far.
The problem has not just been the young players. The veterans have also performed poorly. Klay Thompson is having a sub-par season and Jordan Poole has been inconsistent. Draymond Green has dropped in his averages and Andrew Wiggins has had an average start. Only Curry has arguably been incredible so far and he has single-handedly kept them in some games.
