Fuelling the excitement of the hoops world, March Madness is here. However, a dark cloud of misfortune has been hanging above certain franchises and their supporters. The Los Angeles Lakers and their fans are among the ones taunted by these misfortunes. Things were slightly better for the Los Angeles side after their three-game winning streak. However, last night, that streak got snapped at the hands of the New York Knicks.

Lakers fans were already tormented as their main man LeBron James has been missing out on games since the last week of February on the back of a foot injury. Making things worse, it is being rumored that LeBron and Anthony Davis are having bad blood. Nonetheless, the Lakers have now failed to salvage a much-needed victory against the Knicks. Throwing things further out of kilter, a post-game interview of the Lakers star Anthony Davis has been going sensational over the internet.

A perturbed Anthony Davis shocks the fans

Things were looking a bit better for Anthony Davis and Co after they outsmarted the Toronto Raptors. Moreover, AD was lauded by everyone as he kept the team game running against the Raptors. Peace, however, was short-lived for Lakers fandom as rumors of LeBron and AD having a feud spread across the internet. Adding to the mayhem, now a lackluster performance has cost the Lakers a victory. Aggravating the fall, Anthony Davis has taken all the blame on himself in a post-game interview. Davis was asked the reason for the defeat. He replied, “My play. I played terrible. Couldn’t find my shot: free throws, layups, everything. The guys did their job. I didn’t do my job tonight.”

Anguished by the defeat, the 8x-NBA All-Star added “All these guys did more than enough to win the game, I didn’t do my part.”

Davis finished the game with 17 points, 16 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block. However, he missed 10 of his 18 field goal attempts. Nonetheless, despite attempting five free throws, AD had managed to score just one.

Crucial days await the Lakers

Although, they gave a tough fight to the Knicks before falling the side has been lacking in consistency. On the back of fatigued displays, the team has been forced to give up their winning streaks.
