While the Philadelphia 76ers look to solve the Ben Simmons drama, Embiid has given his thoughts. According to the star, the turning point in the Sixers’ loss last season is a Simmons mistake.

Joel Embiid bashes Ben Simmons

The Philadelphia 76ers season ended on a disappointing note last season as they lost to the Atlanta Hawks in the playoffs. Although it was a bad display from the team overall, everyone blamed Ben Simmons

He struggled the entire game against the Hawks, which eventually led him to miss a crucial open net. The 76ers MVP candidate Joel Embiid feels that the miss from Simmons was the turning point in the game.

He said after the game, “I’ll be honest. I thought the turning point was when we…I don’t know how to say it…is when we had an open shot and we made one free throw.

After the disappointing game against the Hawks, Simmons’ career in the 76ers went downhill. He refused to play for the team and has been part of multiple failed trades.

Simmons has been on the receiving end of criticisms regarding his attitude lately. From NBA legends like Shaquille O’Neal and teammates, they have bashed Simmons for his attitude.

Joel Embiid is not one to stay away from controversial topics. When asked if Simmons’ reaction to the criticism was unreasonable, he went all out.

Embiid said, “Oh, definitely. Definitely. You look at what has been said I just think this is a business. If we don’t get the results, you guys are always on us. You guys are always booing us and all that stuff which at times, we do deserve. You’re not playing well, you deserve the boos.

Although the drama is far from over, the team has tried its best to get rid of Ben Simmons. There have been numerous rumors linking him to teams like the Brooklyn Nets. News regarding the trade suggested a Ben Simmons and Seth Curry package to get hold of James Harden.

Harden is close to the Philadelphia 76ers front office, which makes the deal more reasonable. Whether a deal will go through before the trade deadline is yet to be known. The fact that Simmons will be nowhere near Philadelphia in the near future is certain.
