The battle of the MVP is heating up. There are many candidates on the hunt, but the frontrunners are two big men. Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers and Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets are the favorites for the award and they recently went at it.
The Nuggets took on the Sixers, and the two big men went at each other. The Nuggets come back from 19 down to win 114?110 and Nikola Jokic led the way with 22 points,13 rebounds, and 8 assists. Embiid had 34 points, but he did not have enough help from his bench. Jokic got the edge over Embiid, but a former NBA champion believes Embiid still has the edge.

NBA Champion Kendrick Perkins was asked about what he thought about the battle between the two superstars. He said, ” Woo. Did you see it? It was beautiful. You know all the retired players had something to smile about. You know why? Because those two big guys, the front runners for the MVP, they guarded each other. It was old-school basketball at its finest. But I give the edge to Embiid.”

“Look, Embiid showed us why he’s more skilled offensively, as far as his ability to get buckets. I thought the others just didn’t come to play and help him out. But when you look at what Embiid was doing, I thought he did in great fashion. Although they lost, I thought he was the better basketball player last night. “

The two stars played some old-school basketball, and they guarded each other at every opportunity. Jokic might have won the contest, but Embiid had a better outing, and he seemed to have taken the lead in the MVP race. But the Joker does not seem that he is going to back down soon and the race is on till the end.
