The Philadelphia 76ers managed to take down the Utah Jazz in their most recent matchup. With no James Harden in the starting lineup, the offensive load was placed upon Joel Embiid. And he sure did deliver. The 76ers came out on top with a 105-98 victory over the Jazz but the highlight of the game was Joel Embiid. He even managed to emulate Los Angeles Lakers star, LeBron James.

Embiid absolutely balled out against the Jazz. He was all over the floor, offense and defense which led to a historic performance for the center. Looks like trusting the process has really paid off for the 76ers front office and fans.?

The highest-scoring game for Joel Embiid

The five-time All-Star was as impressive as one could get in almost every faction of the game. Embiid consistently scored points for the first three quarters while also looking for his open teammates on the floor. The court vision of Embiid was clearly on display today as he had some amazing assists over the game.?

Embiid had the highest-scoring game of his career so far. He ended the night with 59 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists, 7 blocks, and 1 steal for the game. Embiid became the 1st player with 50 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 blocks in a game since blocks became official in 1973-74.

The 76ers center seemed as if he had channeled his inner LeBron James the way he was playing. Blocking shots on the defensive side of the floor and then finishing the play on offense in the same possession. What seemed identical to ‘King James’ was his clutch chase-down block on Colin Sexton with 1:25 left to play in the fourth quarter.?

It wasn’t until the latter half of the fourth quarter that Embiid decided to take over the game offensively. The Utah Jazz had no answer for the big man and his plethora of moves. Be it in the post, shooting mid-range step-back fadeaways, or driving to the rim, Embiid was making everything on the floor.?

Utah Jazz big man Lauri Markkanen literally got bullied by Embiid in the fourth quarter. As much as he tried, he could not seem to stop Embiid’s offensive output.

LeBron James would be proud of Joel Embiid’s late-game antics

And if that wasn’t enough, Embiid even managed to get inside Markkanen’s head before his two free throw attempts. Embiid’s jawing at Markkanen led to him missing two clutch free throws in the final minutes of the game.

The incident was similar to what LeBron James did to Gilbert Arenas in a Playoff game in 2006. Embiid channeled his inner LeBron in more ways than one and it lead to one of the greatest performances in NBA history.

Joel Embiid has now scored a total of 101 points in his last two games.?It wouldn’t be a stretch to assume that this might’ve been Embiid’s way of indicating that this is his team. The big man is averaging 32.3 PPG, 10.1 RPG, and 4.1 APG with a true shooting percentage of 63.9%.?

With this win, the 76ers are now in the 6th position in the eastern conference, pushing their record to 7-7 for the season. If Embiid continues to perform the way he has, the Philadelphia 76ers could be a scary sight in the future after the return of James Harden.
