After weeks of speculation, Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers have reached an agreement. As a result of this blockbuster trade, the Eastern Conference outlook may change following this season’s championship. The trade included James Harden being moved to the 76ers. In return, the Nets get Ben Simmons.

With NBA trades going on all over, Philadelphia star Joel Embiid addressed the trade of his former teammate. In his statement, he meant that he believes the Australian All-Star is acting unreasonably. He then broke his silence by making a Damning Statement regarding his trade.

The Sixers parted ways with Ben Simmons, guard Seth Curry, and center Andre Drummond in this deal. Harden was acquired in return. The blockbuster multi-player trade agreement was finalized before the Friday (AEST) deadline. Neither players nor NBA fans expected the deal to be finalized so soon. Joel‘s reaction to his former teammate surprised everyone. As Simmons’ saga finally ended. In regards to his trade, Embiid stated: “It’s unfortunate that I guess having his own team and being a star was more important”.

In Simmons’ case, because of some mental health concerns, he has not played this season for the 76ers. In October, he mentioned that he is not prepared to play because he is not mentally prepared. This happened after losing to the Atlanta Hawks the previous season. This was due to his poor performance. As a result, coach Doc Rivers called him out.

Furthermore, he was criticized by his former teammate Embiid and coach afterward. Simmons hadn’t played with the team yet, which was already becoming a source of frustration for Embiid. At the pre-season training camp, he repeated his approach of explaining his reasons. When he returned, he was suspended due to his refusal to participate in practice.

Embiid made the following statement about whether Simmons is being unreasonable:

“You guys are always booing us and all that stuff which at times, we do deserve. You’re not playing well, you deserve the boos. You deserve to be let know that. ‘Oh, you’re not playing well, you need to be better.’ I just don’t think it was reasonable.”

Embiid and Simmons had an outstanding game in Eastern Conference 2020/2. They were said to be the most remarkable duo in NBA leagues. But Simmons has struggled badly following his last season’s performance.
