With the NFC Championship game around the corner, fans are excited to see MVP contenders face each other this week. Former Los Angeles Lakers point guard Magic Johnson seems to be one who is eyeing out the upcoming clashes, as he shared his excitement for the face-offs in a tweet today. Moreover, Johnson has made a bold claim about who he is rooting for in his tweet.

This NFL season has kept fans on the edge of their seats.  Fans can’t wait to find out who will bag the MVP, as the contenders will soon face each other. Among numerous talented athletes in the NFL, Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes II, and Jalen Hurts have emerged as leading horses in the race for MVP.

Magic Johnson roots for the Eagles quarterback to win the MVP

Although all three, Burrow, Mahomes II, and Hurts, are performing at par, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts put up a game-saving performance in the Divisional Round to lead his team to the Championship game. With various stars appreciating Hurts for his performance, Johnson has joined them too.

Johnson mentioned in his tweet, “I’m looking forward to next Sunday’s NFL Playoff matchups! The top three MVP candidates will be featured: Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, and Patrick Mahomes.” sharing his excitement. Adding to his high praise for Hurts, he mentioned, “After watching Jalen Hurts lead his Eagles to the best record in the NFL, I’m pulling for him to win MVP!”. 

The Philadelphia Eagles are set to face the San Francisco 49ers next week, while the Kansas City Chiefs will face the Cincinnati Bengals. Patrick Mahomes II seemingly has the best odds at the MVP award as he stands first in both touchdowns and yards covered this season along with a QBR rating of 77.6%.

LeBron James shuts down Jalen Hurts haters

LeBron James on Twitter had high praise for the Eagles quarterback. James mentioned, “Yeah like they were saying. Anybody would look great at QB for the Eagles. Jalen Hurts is SPECIAL.”.

Hurts has covered a total of 3701 yards along with 22 touchdowns this season. Moreover, he has a QBR rating of 66.4%. The competition for the MVP is brimming with competition.
