Especially in the Los Angeles Lakers, being a former player of the franchise, he contributed tremendously to the team. There was a recent incident that occurred between the franchise and West that didn’t get resolved promptly. Many statements indicated that their relationship was getting strained. The former Lakers’ guard and their executive are not on a good page.

The Athletic released the news in which writer Sam Amick provided fully detailed information about what exactly happened between the player and the franchise. He also explained why their relationship was put into question. In the segment, they mentioned the ‘cold text‘ that concluded Jerry West’s relationship with the Lakers.

Jerry West is enraged at the Los Angeles Lakers, his former team
The report stated that West was promised lifetime season tickets to the Lakers by Dr. Jerry Buss, and provided an explanation of what exactly happened. The way he obtained the information about his disappointment with the team. According to West:
“It was a cold phone text to my wife,” West said. “No one had the nerve to call me, but that’s how petty they are, OK? And I love the Lakers, OK? I love to see them do well. It’s great for basketball. I’m proud of everything that happened when I was there. I’m proud of everything that happened when I wasn’t there — the positives.”

West continued by expressing his feelings about the situation that happened. He said:
“But sometimes you feel like you’re discarded, like a piece of trash. And there’s a couple of people over there — not Jeanie — but there’s a couple of people over there that, uh … I don’t get it.”
During a discussion about what happened between the Hall of Famer and the franchise. West has stated how much he loves the Lakers, but the current situation does not indicate that they will be able to restore their good terms. West seemed to be pretty upset by what the team did and how they acted. Citing his loyalty to the team.
