Jayson Tatum’s performances have made him among the top 10 players in the NBA. When the Boston Celtics were down and out, he, along with others, rose to make an inspiring comeback and achieve 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference. In the Playoffs, Tatum and co. have had one of the hardest paths ever. Yet, that has not fazed the Celtics forward, who has dazzled despite facing tough opponents. Tatum has a great support system in his mom as well. She is very supportive of him privately and publicly on Twitter. Hence, she is also is prone to giving it back to those who talked “smack” about her son.

In accordance to that, once, after a regular season game in January against the New York Knicks, Jayson Tatum’s mother, Brandy Cole went at former player and ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins. In that game, the Knicks only mustered up a measly 75 points in 48 minutes. The Celtics blew them out by 24 points. Jaylen Brown had put up his first career triple double. He scored 22 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and dished out 11 assists while shooting a solid 60% from the field. Tatum, meanwhile, had an off day. He shot only 40% from the field and had only one assist on that night, but he ended up gaining 19 points, nonetheless.??
Kendrick Perkins decided to praise Jaylen Brown on Twitter. He wrote, “Jaylen Brown completely took over this game with his first triple double of his career! Played a perfect game while Jayson Tatum went 6/14 from the field. They got the win though. Carry on.” While the praise for Brown was fair, the swipe at Tatum was not.? Jayson tweeted out his annoyance later.
But Jayson’s mother went “full tiger mom” on Perkins. Cole wrote,” ?Under normal circumstances, I would GO IN and address how toxic and negative someone is regarding my son. It?s funny the games they comment on and the ones they refrain from. But then I googled this person?s career stats. This is a joke right? Carry on.”?

Perkins was no mug when it comes to his career. He had played for the championship winning Boston Celtics and the LeBron led Cleveland Cavaliers. He was never more than a useful role player in each of these teams.
Tatum has?showed his class as always in the next regular season games and the playoffs. He has scored 27 points per game this postseason, which includes 46 points against the defending champions Milwaukee Bucks in Game 6 of the 2nd round. Perkins has never averaged that much points in his entire career. Jayson Tatum’s ultimate test will be the next game.
