Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics is a hero both on and off the court. While he puts on phenomenal performances for his team day in and day out, he never fails from standing up for what is right.
In one such instance, Tatum won the hearts of the Internet last year. After elite gymnast Simone Biles decided to withdraw herself from the Olympics, Tatum came to her rescue.

For the uninitiated, Biles pulled out of the Olympics citing mental health reasons. Although the sporting world hailed Biles for taking such a bold decision, she also received a lot of flak.
One of them came from Charlie Kirk, who is a conservative activist and radio personality. Kirk bashed Simone for her actions, which forced Tatum to take a stand for a fellow athlete.

Jayson Tatum has quickly risen up the ranks to become one of the best players in the league currently. Moreover, he has led his team to the Eastern Conference finals, and he faces the Miami Heat in their quest for the title.
Interestingly enough, while he lets his performance do the talking on the court, Tatum is known for voicing his opinions to the public.
In one such instance, Tatum took a strong stance for Olympics gymnast Simone Biles. She made headlines all around the world after pulling out of the much-awaited Tokyo Olympics. She did so citing mental health reasons.
After conservative activist Charlie Kirk called Biles ‘weak’, ‘immature’, and ‘a shame to the country’, Tatum hit back. He said, “Is it that hard to be supportive and empathetic to what others are going through? This is someone’s daughter and her health your referring to….”

When asked what inspired him to come to Biles’ defense, JT responded giving a point of view of himself as a parent. He said, “Seeing someone degrade and ridicule your child, like I feel like that would make anybody angry and feel some type of way. From that stance, that why I said what I said.“
