All it took was a few days for the Brooklyn Nets to explode in disarray. The Kevin Durant side looked to be a formidable contender. Both Kyrie Irving and the Slim Reaper had figured out their dynamic to create a championship atmosphere. However, since the organization wasn’t willing to offer an extension to KAI, they lost the superstar. Fans can only hope and pray for KD to somehow keep the power scales in place. However, according to Stephen A. Smith, the 13-time All-Star could also be packing his bags in a few days.
The trade deadline was cold up until the beginning of this week. Irving’s move to Dallas is arguably the biggest one coming out of the period this season. That was until Smith broke the news surrounding Durant. Notably, after losing his friend to Luka Doncic, the two-time Finals MVP is reportedly looking for a new home. In addition, the destination seems to be one KD has been linked to since initially asking for a trade request before the season.
In a shocking claim, the celebrated analyst revealed the Nets have made calls to the Boston Celtics regarding a Kevin Durant move.

Is Kevin Durant on his way to join Jayson Tatum?
As soon as the Kyrie Irving trade was announced, speculations began about Durant’s potential future. At 34, the Slim Reaper is arguably hungry to compete for a championship. Without KAI, the Nets probably don’t have enough to surround KD to fulfill his aspirations. The two-time champion’s reactions are yet a mystery. However, during a segment on ESPN, Stephen A. Smith revealed some insider information that ties KD to the Boston Celtics once again.
While on ESPN, Smith claimed, “Obviously, we?ve all been speculating about that, that the may be moved. On the phone, I?m hearing that Boston is making some calls. Keep your eye on Jaylen Brown. Keep your eye on that”.?The analyst’s revelation saw Nets fans boil with anger.
Durant has held high praise for Jayson Tatum in the past. Moreover, during his own trade request, Boston was reportedly the frontrunner to land the 2023 All-Star starter. Likewise, once again the man on the chopping block is Jaylen Brown. However, looking at the Celtics, are they desperate to make such a move?

If Durant is moved, it won’t be until the summer. Why would Boston do that now? That’s a desperation move and the Celtics aren’t close to that.

If I see the Jaylen for KD trade go through I’m retiring as a Celtics fan pic.twitter.com/jWv5z7N2Kz

After making it to the finals last season, the Celtics are enjoying a statement season. The Brown-Tatum duo has burned down nearly every opponent on their way to the best record in the NBA. Notably, Brown is having a career season putting up 27 points per game. Both were named to the upcoming All-Star game and have only proved they are nowhere near the ceiling.
Tatum has also spoken about his chemistry with Brown and trusting their partnership. While KD remains probably the most unguardable weapon in the league, he is approaching an age past his prime. On the other hand, Brown has long developed in the Celtics system and is just 26.
