Michael Jordan and LeBron James being pitted against each other for some or the other reason will never get old. At least until a player better than Bron shows up that can be compared to the likes of Jordan. This could take a while as there are some other NBA players who have been included in the GOAT discussion as well, but no one as much as Bron.

And fans don’t need an occasion to do it, because once again, Twitter exploded with people comparing which one of these two had more competition during their era. Of course, LeBron fans went out on a limb to support him, while Jordan fans did their part to take a stand for him as well.

But unlike most conversations, this went downhill pretty quickly as fans ended up trolling some other players in the midst of it. It all started with a fan tweeting a picture of a buffed-up Karl Malone, working out. Along with a picture of Zion Williamson, slouching on a couch and playing video games. Although that’s merely an image of Zion from a commercial for Mountain Dew, the damage was done.

If that wasn’t enough, they also had to drag James Harden into it. Harden is definitely one of the best players in the league. However, it was very recently that he went through a phase in which he had gained a few pounds. Critics being critics, could not stop mocking him and this also came up during this debate. But this time the fan added David Robinson’s picture as MJ’s competition, and Harden was LeBron’s.

It is difficult to pinpoint who had to face tougher competitors because the game has evolved a lot over the years. And because of that, so has the talent. Jordan’s list of rivalries just does not end. From Boston Celtics’ Larry Bird, The “Bad Boy Pistons”, Malone, Phoenix Suns’ Charles Barkley, Clyde Drexler, Patrick Ewing, to even Reggie Miller.

However, LeBron’s rivalry was more franchise-based. He had to get past iron-clad teams like the Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs, Boston Celtics, and even the Dallas Mavericks to add NBA championships to his resume.

So, it is safe to say that both of them had their fair share of difficulty. But when has that stopped fans from making comparisons between the two? And it probably never will.
