It has hardly been two months since Ja Morant faced the consequences of flashing a firearm. Earlier on an Instagram live from a Colorado night club, the Memphis Grizzlies star has again sparked a gun controversy in a similar way. The franchise has reportedly suspended him from all basketball-related activities. Besides, concerns sure to flow from a prolonged suspension from the league are also looming over the star guard.
When Morant landed in the firearm soup a couple of months ago, he had lost around $39 million since he failed to make it to the All-NBA team.?As recent updates suggest, Ja is now likely to face consequences to his multi-million-dollar partnership as well.

On Saturday, Ja Morant was seen in an Instagram live posted by one of his friends, Davonte Pack. Morant and his friends were seen driving around. The Grizzlies guard was at the wheel. However, for a split second, Morant could be seen holding what appears to be a gun in his hand. The All-Star has been facing flak from all sides since. This time around, Nike too is unhappy with Ja Morant, despite backing him during the first gun controversy.
Earlier in March, Nike had Ja Morant’s back when he landed in his first gun controversy. The $184 billion sports apparel company had then issued a statement acknowledging Morant’s “accountability”. Besides, Nike had ensured that they will continue to support the Memphis star. However, this has apparently become an anecdote from the past. Nike has now removed Ja Morant’s signature sneakers from their app.
A handle posted the update on Instagram, with the caption, “According to Sports Illustrated Ja Morant?s Hunger Ja 1 sneakers are no longer listed on the Nike or Finish Line apps.”

Will Ja Morant face the same fate as Kyrie Irving?

Now that Nike has made a similar move in Ja Morant’s case, the possibility of Ja facing the similar fate as Kyrie cannot be overlooked. The Grizzlies star has reportedly signed a $193 million deal with Nike. With his signature shoe gone from the website, Ja will have to wait and see if he will lose millions of dollars.
