Before the NBA took any action, the Grizzlies suspended him. Later on, the NBA suspended him for eight games. During his suspension, many former and current players gave their take on the whole ordeal. Chicago Bulls player Patrick Beverley suggested that music could be a reason behind Ja’s actions which caused some rumbles.
Recently, a rapper was asked about Beverley’s suggestions during an interview. Interestingly, he admitted that hip-hop could have been an influence behind Morant flashing a gun.
Ja Rule about hip-hop’s influence on Ja Morant

Rapper Ja Rule was recently interviewed by TMZ Sports where he was asked about Patrick Beverley’s comments on Ja Morant. The rapper agreed with Beverley’s comments and said that hip-hop is very influential. He then added that he has done several things during his youth because of hip hop’s influence. Ja Rule said, “I’m sure there is. Hip Hop is very influential. I?ve done things in my youth because of Hip Hop.”?
He then advised Morant to leave all that behind and focus on playing basketball. “Go play ball, man,” he said. “The streets ain’t about nothing, man. Go grind on ’em. Keep balling. That’s it, man. We all make mistakes, man. I made plenty of mistakes when I was young. So, it happens. “

Furthermore, the rapper wanted others to let Morant heal. The interviewer then talked about the point guard’s return and asked whether Rule thinks the Grizzlies can win the title. He replied that it is hard to predict that. However, he said that the Grizzlies are a very promising young team.
Morant’s road to return
Ja Morant issued an apology after his actions caused major controversy. Then recently, he sat down with former NBA player turned sportscaster Jalen Rose for an interview. The reigning MIP stated that the firearm was not his and said that he does not condone guns or violence. However, he said added he will take full responsibility for his actions. Furthermore, Morant promised to show everyone his true side and change the current narrative.

The two-time All-Star also reportedly had a meeting with NBA commissioner Adam Silver before the announcement that he was suspended for eight games. Morant’s suspension is over and he will be eligible to return against the Dallas Mavericks tomorrow. However, according to reports, Ja will not be back on the court until the game against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday.
