Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies is undoubtedly one of the most exciting players to watch in the league currently. The Most Improved Player for the 2021-22 season is known for his dunking abilities and he uses his gifts to optimum use.
Interestingly enough, it is not only the stars of today who have faced Ja’s wrath. Morant recently commented on NBA legend Michael Jordan. The Grizzlies star talked about cooking Jordan in a 1v1. Safe to say, his words sent headlines all around the world.

While Ja’s dunking abilities might terrorize opponents, a former NBA star has a piece of advice to stop him. According to John Salley, if the player jumps first, Morant will have to think. This will prevent him from dunking on the player guarding him.
Salley said, “If I was playing against Ja Morant, I would jump first. All you big guys out there who see him going to the basket, just jump first. Jump first and make him think about not jumping. If you go up in the air, he won’t go up in the air. That’s the only way of stopping that kid and not getting dunked on.“

It will be interesting to see whether someone will use the advice given by Salley to defend Ja Morant during the upcoming season.
LeBron James is a fan of Ja Morant as well
