NBA legend Michael Jordan is one of the best players to ever lace up. Over the course of his illustrious career, MJ has won 6 NBA titles, 6 Finals MVP awards, and 5 NBA MVP awards. He led the Chicago Bulls to two different three-peats. Jordan played a huge role in popularising the game around the world. While he attracted fans around the world with his game, he made his opponents fear him. The Bulls legend was an unstoppable force and his opponents had a torrid time playing against him. Furthermore, the Bulls legend was great at both ends of the court.

Ever since Jordan’s retirement, he has been made the benchmark of greatness. Whenever a young show some flashes of greatness, the player is bound to be compared with the Bulls legend. Also, he is used as a measurement of basketball greatness. And the players are often asked whether they think they could beat Jordan.

Recently, Memphis Grizzlies superstar, Ja Morant said that he would have ‘cooked’ Michael Jordan in his era. Now, former NBA champion, Vernon Maxwell has given a piece of advice?to Morant about his claims.
Vernon Maxwell’s advice to Ja Morant about Michael Jordan
Vernon Maxwell has won two NBA titles with the Houston Rockets and it was back-to-back from 1994 to 1995. Maxwell was in attendance for the ‘No Chill With Gilbert Arenas’ podcast. During the chat, the host asked Maxwell about defending Michael Jordan. He said that he used to have sleepless nights thinking about defending MJ the next day. Maxwell also said that Jordan could embarrass anyone on the court.
Then he touched on young players talking about beating the Bulls legend. He said, “All these kids talk a lot of s**t. Ja, you know I love you and your daddy. Hey, man stop that s**t man. You didn’t want them problems bro…”?
Last month, Morant claimed that he would beat Michael Jordan in his era. He said, “Just how he[Jordan] go about the game, that mindset he had ? I would like to play against him. ? I would’ve cooked him, too.”

While we might not know for sure about the outcome of a game between MJ and Ja, we can definitely say Morant has a long way to go. In his third season, Morant averaged 27.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game and won the Most Improved Player of the Year award. Michael Jordan on the other hand averaged a mindboggling 37.1 points per game in his third season.
