Shaquille O’Neal has reacted to a surprising update on an astonishing record that LeBron James is approaching in the upcoming season. In fact, Shaq posted the update on his Instagram stories to inform fans that LeBron James only has to average 16.2 points per game next season to surpass NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the all-time league leader in points.

In other words, King James is only 1326 points away from having the most points in NBA history. As it turns out, Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is currently the league leader with 38,387 points. On the other hand, James is standing in second place with 37,062 points as he enters his 20th NBA season.

In fact, Shaq once admitted in a podcast that he considers the 37-year-old superstar a top three all-time player behind Jordan and Kobe. However, the 7’1″ giant accepted that LeBron passing Kareem as the league leader in points will hush all his critics.
“If [LeBron] pass up Kareem in points, we all gotta shut the hell up“, said the Lakers legend.
In addition, Shaq revealed that he believes that LeBron has his eyes on the record. In other words, becoming the all-time league leader in points would serve as a great argument in his favor in the GOAT debate.
